National reconstruction and Indian youth;heat of the nation

Youth means potentiality, vigour and enthusiasm. According to Emerson, ” Men build a nation’s pillars deep and lift them to sky”. Youth is generally gifted with self-confidence, independent thinking and courage to achieve the goal. If the youth are inactive to determine their value, then the society also remain inactive and weak. A young man normally does not blindly follow the conservative, conventional and orthodox principles. He want reasoning for every conventional and traditional theories prevalent in the society. He himself indulges to make analysis to separate the grain from the chaff. It is evident from history that great civilization have because youth were not prepared to uplift them. All national movement and programmes are dependent upon the youth-power, Vivekanand, Daya Nand Saraswati, Netiaji Subash chandar bose, bhagat singh, Chandar shekhar Azad were some of the youth of india, who had done a lot for social reforms and freedom of India. Indian National Movement could only achieve success when the youth power participated for it. IN china, Mao Tse Young motivated the youth. Consequently, within a few years, the country turned into a well developed nation. In India, youth power is about 40 crore and there is no difficulty for them to realise the ideals long cherised by our freedom fighters, It is they who have to shift the value afresh. The upliftment and progress of a nation rests upon the powerful and daring shoulders of the young people. The young blood is considered to be the true working force of the society. They have vigour and vitality to bring revolutionary changes for progress and recommendation of the nation.

Modern India is in need of total awakening and full-fledged resurrection. It is a fact that India is one of the the biggest democratic nations in the world and it is also true that India is possessed of tremendous youth power. If this dynamic youth power is correctly utilised for upliftment of our developing social, economic and political structures, the day is not far off to turn our nation to be a powerful and well developed nation. It is the youth who form the muscles and brain of the nation and the nation also requires services of the youth because of heat of their blood together with constructive mental attitude.

In India, there are many evils in our society. Casteism, regionalism and communalism are deep rooted in our soil. Women are still backward, downtrodden and oppressed. They are lacking economic identity, education and awareness. Dowry system, child- marraiges and harassment of widows are as rampant today as ever. Bride-burning and cruelty to women are increasing. The values on which old people were brought up have become out dated, but the young people being attached with them, find it difficult to revolt against them. Neverhtless , they can reject the dead and pick up useful elements for constructing better social structure and they can promote national intergration.

The political field is the regulating force which decides the time action of the nation. IN this field, the youths are the best persons to carry on and implement the national decisions . That apart, the entire political atmosphere is polluted with corruption, opportunism, deceptions, frauds , nepotism and lust of power. For achievements of thier personal gains or vested intersts of the parties, the politicians can stoop to any level of dishonety and below standards means. In such state of affairs, the youth can inculcate the values of the democracy and secularism in minds of the people. It is for the youth to initiate cleaning programmes in order to bring about a credible and honest regime for the welfare of the public at large.

The youth can play a vital role in the economic field also. They can bring a modern outlook to industry, commerce and agriculture and can also work for implementation of various developement programmes. Therefore, the Government should look after ther larger interests of the youth by designing appropriate educational and economic policies, which can help the youth to inculcate the qualities of dedication and patriotism.

The youth can make a significant contribution in the sphere of education also. The youth can be utilised and projected for making creative policies and implementations thereof. Therefore, such type of education should be imparted to the young people so as to help them to develop thier personalities with all potentials, for the welfare of the society.

But, the youth is like a raw material, which has to be given a particular shape, and important responsibillities can only be shouldered upon by the matured and responsible citizens of the nation. Although youth is another name of vigour, vitality and enthusiasm, yet they are generally, inexperienced, self-centered, indecessive, impatient and frustrated. There is distrust between the old and the young due to generation gap.
